Say what's wrong. Get a brief.
Hold a key, walk a page, and talk while pointing at things. Ambient captures each remark with a screenshot of exactly what your cursor was on when you said it — then hands you the lot as one list.
Free. Nothing leaves your machine unless you send it.
This build isn't signed by Apple yet , so macOS will refuse to open it on the first try. It takes two extra clicks:
Unzip, drag Ambient to Applications, then right-click → Open .
If it still refuses: System Settings → Privacy & Security , scroll down, click Open Anyway .
Using it
Tap ⌃ fn . The menu bar icon starts moving.
Talk while pointing at whatever you're describing. Every pause becomes its own note, with its own screenshot.
Tap ⌃ fn again. A panel shows what it caught — delete anything you don't want.
Copy , or paste it straight into Claude.
Permissions it asks for
Microphone
Opens only while the keys are held. Closed the rest of the time.
Screen Recording
For the screenshot behind each note. Skipped whenever a password field is open.
Accessibility
To see the keyboard shortcut and read what's under your cursor.
Transcription runs on-device. Notes and screenshots stay in ~/.ambient until you copy or send them.
